The TOSOH Quartz Engineering Staff is comprised of Mechanical, Ceramic, Chemical, and Electrical Engineers; Statisticians, CAD Designers, CAM/CNC Programmers, dedicated Master Glassblowers and Master Glass Machinists. Our Engineering staff is dedicated to providing design and quick-turn solutions to meet a variety of customer needs.

TOSOH Quartz Engineering Facilities Resources include glass blowing & machining equipment and facilities for R&D and quick-turn prototyping. Material & product analysis is achieved in our in-house laboratory and with outside analytical vendors.

Engineering Design Systems:

TOSOH Quartz utilizes the latest in engineering design systems, including robust ECO, FMEA, DOE, Gauge R&R, SPC and Product Defect Analysis processes. With our ISO-9001 design requirements, we maintain structured Design Input, Design Review, Design Output and Design Verification methodologies.

Quartz Material Development:

TOSOH Quartz works closely with the major material manufacturers (GE, NSG & Osram ) to improve material specifications. Material quality is driven by TOSOH Quartz's strenuous "QC100VQ" specification, a periodic roadmap alignment with quartz manufacturers. TOSOH material laboratory facilities are used for material analysis and feedback to customers and quartz material manufacturers.
